The University Church of Christ is a un-denominational church whose mission is to do all things to the glory of God (Ephesians 3:21). Our membership is characterized as a group of people encouraging one another on toward the goal of an eternal home in Heaven with God (Philippians 3:12-14, II Timothy 4:7-8, John 14:1-4).
The Beliefs of this Local Church
We believe in:
God's Kingdom. We believe God, the Father, sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to save the world. We believe that Jesus Christ grants citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven to those who are saved and remain faithful. And we believe that Jesus Christ is going to return one day to take them there to live a life everlasting (John 3:16, Matthew 7:21, Philippians 3:17-21).
God's Word. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that it is our only authority (II Timothy 3:16-17). We believe that all who obey God's Word are forgiven of their sins and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. that is, salvation by the grace of God, and are added to the Lord's church, Christ's body, under the authority of God (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 2: 47; Eph 1:22-23).

All preaching and teaching is based solely upon the Bible, which is our pattern and example for all that we do.

Elders to oversee... 1 Peter 5:1-3
The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that be revealed; Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
Evangelist to "Preach the Word!.."
2 Tim 4:2-5
Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Deacons to Serve... Acts 6:3-4
Therefore brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.
"We have put our hope in the living God..." 1 Timothy 4:10
